Our Story: Born from the Breaks of Raglan

It all started with a few gnarly days on the waves—one close call after another. First, my fin almost took off my toe, then a few too many near misses had me questioning my luck. But, the real wake-up call was when one of my amazing surf girls ended up needing 8 stitches in her head after her board struck her head in a wipeout. That’s when it hit me: surfing might be the raddest sport on the planet, but with its rising popularity comes a whole lot more chaos in the lineup.

Crowded breaks mean more fins, more boards, and more of Mother Nature’s surprises, all wrapped up in one potentially dangerous package—even for seasoned surfers. So, I set out on a mission to find a helmet that could keep us safe on those smaller, busier days. But guess what? There was nothing out there that fit the bill.

And just like that, my new baby, the Surf Shell was born. A practical, comfortable and stylish surf hat helmet.
